Happy Friggan' Friday

Okay, this is my first post here on "my blog." As I sit here deciding what to write, I wonder how many people will actually read this. I believe in my heart that it is more of an online journal than anything else but hell, it is possible that someone might "surf" by.

So, a little about me. I am a 37 year old Jersey girl who has been transplanted in Orlando, Florida. Disney, Disney, Disney...let me squash all your dreams folks: Orlando is not the happiest place on earth!

I was married to my partner last year and although not legally binding our marriage is one of love and commitment. Susan and I said our vows in front of our family and friends. It truly is all that matters to me as far as the "legality" of it all.

I don't understand the voting citizens of the USA. How can anyone in their right mind vote for George Bush? Even if I wasn't a lesbian, I'd still vote for the Hamburglar vs GWB.

We have been trying to conceive for about a year now to no avail. Before we started the process we read every book that was written on the subject. We took the advice of the "experts" and sought out an RE (reproductive endocronolist). A specialist! Now $23,000 later we're still plugging away. (no pun intended) The fertility or infertility rollercoaster is absolutely all consuming. You breath, eat, sleep..cycles, FSH injectibles, ovualtion, follicles, fertile mucus etc. You can't go out because your friends are sick and tired of hearing about it. They say misery loves company but I can assure you if you ever have to step on this ride you'll find out that that is not necessarily the case.

We have 3 dogs. (Of course we do! Every lesbian has a dog or two, don't they?) Anyway, we have her's, mine and ours. Basia is an 11 year old Chow Chow. Karmi is a 3 year old Silky Terrier and Maizee is a 1 year old Bearded Collie.

We rescued Maizee from a pet store last year. She was dying of pneumonia. She's actually our million dollar dog. I think we spent more money on the dog than we do each cycle for infertility! My vet told me that if she made it, she'd be the best dog we ever had. She is the best dog we ever had!

Well, that's about all that's fit to print today. Until I type again...
